Like the indoor version, this RB5009 features 7 Gigabit Ethernet ports, one 2.5G Gigabit Ethernet port, one 10G SFP+ slot and a full USB3 port!!

Power up RB5009

The unit offers "extensive redundancy" with 9 different power supply possibilities. There's a 2-pin power connector on the front, plus PoE-in and PoE-out on all eight Ethernet ports. The card can use any of these sources for power, choosing the one with the highest voltage when multiple sources are available.

Mikrotik RB5009 requires up to 21W for its own power supply. If you use PoE-in, the card will stay powered on even if 8 of the 9 power sources go out unexpectedly. An unprecedented redundancy!

All power options support a wide range of voltages, from 24V to 57V. However, voltages cannot be mixed..

PoE out

This Mikrotik Router can be used to supply power to other devices (equipped with PoE-in) via the PoE-out functionality available on all 8 ports. This function can only be used if it supplies power through the 2-pin connector.

Each PoE-out port can deliver up to 25W of power. All ports together are limited to 130W, which should be sufficient for most setups. If necessary, you can manually specify the maximum power available from the power sources.

This product also features single voltage PoE output, which can be compatible with 802.3at/af or low voltage PoE. This is determined by the voltage applied on the 2-pin connector, as no voltage conversion is done on this board.

Ethernet/Routing

In terms of processing power and available use cases, this router can do it all: PPPoE termination, DHCP to clients, local queuing, MPLS Push/Pop/Swap and MPLS Forwarding, VPLS/VXLAN termination, hardware bridging, and more!
